Have you seen a glowing, pulsating yellow ring on your Echo device?
That means that you have a notification (and it might be important). To hear it (and clear the yellow ring) just say “Alexa, play my notifications”. This could be for a severe weather warning, breaking news, or reminders that you have missed.
There are other colors too:
Blue ring – Alexa has heard her name, and is awaiting a command. One section of the ring will be a lighter blue – that is the direction that the device heard the wake word from.
Spinning blue-green – the Echo is starting up.
Spinning orange – the Echo is in setup mode, or is trying to connect to the Internet.
Red ring – means that the microphone button has been pressed, and Alexa is not listening.
White ring – this displays the current Echo volume. The louder the volume, the fuller the ring is – max volume is a full circle.
Pulsing green ring – there is an incoming call
Spinning green – the call is active, or there is an active drop-in
Spinning purple – the Echo is unable to connect to WiFi
Blinking purple – the Do Not Disturb feature is on. This can be turned off in the Alexa app.
